Testing industry boom in India

US Department of Commerce estimated that software bugs cost $59.5 billion to the US economy. About $2 billion of the estimated $13 billion global software testing market is accounted for by Indian companies. India has become one of the leading destinations for offshore testing, with market opportunities for the offshore software testing companies currently at $2 billion, and expected to rise to $8 billion by end of 2008.
An ideal world having more than enough time and money would surely afford ample opportunity for creating exhaustive test strategies, comprehensive test plans, 100% code coverage, and infinitely adaptable test frameworks for all possible new components and features, with just enough time to complete all three full test cycles within one week of the product's announced release date.
The real world however demands that, within the limitations of schedule, budget, and available resources, products be fully engineered faster than last time, with fewer bugs, with increases in scalability, security, and performance, yielding at least 20% more ROI.
